I successfully conquered the ENCOR(350-401) exam on November 13, 2023, after a rigorous month of full-time preparation, without a single day of rest.
My journey began with a ten-day exploration of the Udemy ENCOR Course, followed by tackling all 863 exam questions available on the dumps site. Whenever I stumbled upon challenging concepts, I turned to Google, ChatGPT, and YouTube to gain a comprehensive understanding. Additionally, I leveraged GNS3 to simulate the lab questions, enhancing my practical skills.
The exam comprised 87 questions and four lab simulations. Most of the questions were covered in the dump, focusing on conceptual understanding. But the lab questions are not in the dump, it’s a little different.

Different Approach

Reflecting on my experience, I would approach the ENCOR exam differently. With a background in Telecommunication through both my bachelor's and master's degrees and over five years of experience as a network engineer, I would have a different study plan.
1. Starting with Questions
Rather than diving straight into the 22-hour Course, I would recommend starting with the dump exam questions. Begin with question one, and if you comprehend it, move on. If not, refer to the OCG (Official Cert Guide), research the topic, and utilize resources like Google, ChatGPT, and YouTube.
2. Selective Focus
Not all areas of knowledge require equal attention. Recognize the aspects pertinent to your job role and focus on those. For instance, if your expertise lies in SD-WAN or Firewalls, there's no need to delve too deeply into WLAN. Instead, ensure a conceptual understanding and just simply memorize questions and answers in that area. In the real working world, information is at your fingertips, so there's no need to burden your brain with every detail.
3. Hands-On Practice
Ensure GNS3 is your starting point—install it and immerse yourself in the simulation. Dive deep into practical scenarios, get your hands dirty, and prioritize building hands-on expertise. Lab questions, often absent from dump sites, are straightforward with ample lab hours. Strong hands-on skills save time in exams and boost confidence in work/interviews.

GNS3 Guide

💡
This is the guide for installing GNS3, the official guide is not very clear, and you may lost yourself there.
  1. Download and Install GNS3. GNS3 is complicated, it has local computer mode, C/S mode, and VM mode; the easiest one is local computer mode for the beginner. During GNS3 startup, select local computer mode.
  1. Download IOS Images. Your GNS3 Client is empty and you can’t add any router or switch. Check this link below and download IOS images of Routers and Switches, and then install them.

NOTE: For Linux, start the GNS3 by inputting gns3 in the terminal instead of the official guide’s gns3server.
GNS3 has many many issues, if you are not using Linux, I suggest you try Packet Tracer, which is also free.
